To achieve a CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) a total of 13 units of competency must be completed (seven core units and six elective units).
Students must undertake a minimum of 120 logged working hours within an Approved Service which will allow you complete a range of applicable work tasks.
If students are not currently working for a suitable facility, students are encouraged to locate their own work placement locations. Kirana staff are able to assist you if you have any difficulties.
Students will be provided a Practicum Booklet that will detail the tasks to be completed and log the work placement hours.
The Trainer/ Assessor will visit each student in the workplace to assess the skills required in this qualification.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. It’s preferred that participants have obtained a minimum of a School Certificate or equivalent.
Participants will be required to provide a current National Police Certificate prior to commencing work.

The selection process is designed to ensure that you are enrolled in the qualification that best meets your needs.
The selection criteria will take into account various factors when deciding upon which students or trainees will be offered places in the program including;
- The students’ needs and desired outcomes
- The ability and commitment of the students to complete the course;
- Eligibility requirements listed in the applicable National Training Package;
- Students existing ability in the ACSF core skills, (learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy)
Students and trainees not meeting these requirements will be directed to more suitable qualifications or skill development programs.
